Drying System for Grapes, Vegetables, Cereals, etc.

DESCRIPTION: The grapes exhaust from distillery (60% humidity in weight--- 1kg=600grams of water +400g of dry matter) are dosed (screw has inverter drive) and pass to an elevator and to another screw to be put into the rotating dryer; this has a diameter of 1800 mm and a length of 14000 mm; it's driven by a 5.5 kw VEM electric motor through a robust rpm reducer. The hot air from the oven (1000 °C) passes into it to permit that water inside grapes becomes steam. Dried grapes (skin + seeds) exit at about 80°c and 8-10 % of humidity (it's not a problem to have less humidity) and go to the sifter through another screw and another elevator (both these are new - year 2000). Into sifter we have separation of seeds (suitable for extracting oil) and skins. Skins (and seeds) are moved using rope transporters (made by AZA international and built in year 2000) ; skins go into mill feeding tank). From here they are dosed with a special inverter driven belt with a magnet that takes out eventual metallic parts that could make fire during milling. The hammer mill is new, built in year 2000 with a 22 kw motor and it's suitable for cereals or other usages too; it's provided with a 20 sqm sleeves air filter, complete of PLC for economisation of compressed air. The crushed skin (like talcum powder) is put into a 6 cbm storage tank using another elevator (new built year 2000 too). Using another rope transporter powder is put into a little storage tank where using an inverter driven screw it's dosed to the burner into the oven. Steam exiting from the rotating tube is aspirated by a 11 kw fan and blown into a cyclone(with antiacid coating); the exit of cyclone is connected by a stainless steel A/304 pipe of 800 mm of diameter to a scrubber to eventually clean steam from powder. Instead of using the scrubber, it can be used a sleeves air filter completely in stainless steel A/304 480 sqm, 480 sleeves full optional complete of 15 kw aspirator, built in year 2000 and ZERO HOURS of working. Both exhausts are collected in a chimney 950 mm diameter in stainless steel A/304 to reach the height of 20 meters. Total power installed of the plant is around 100 KW , but it's normally used 40-50 KW (this means all motors are overbuilt). All the plant is controlled by a new electrical panel board year 2000 complete of PLC for all main functions. Instead of burning the crushed skins, it is possible place an oil burner on the oven, and run the plant using semi fluid oil (7°E or something more) The capacity of the system is 80-100 tons/24hrs of 60% humid grapes distillery wastes every 24 hours to be reduced to 10% humidity. The plant worked only from August 2000 to February 2002, in total 670 hours. Its normal usage is for dry exhausted grapes from distillation of grappa: grape seeds are an optimal oil source, while skins are used for animal feeding or recently as biologic soil fertilizers. Anyway the plant is very versatile and robust, can be used for drying a large quantity of substrates… such as breweries wastes, vegetables, some cereals, seaweeds, composts, soils etc. You will find enclosed also a picture of disposal of the plant in our building.
